Cable Table reDesign.007

Revisiting my re-invention from day one and expanding on it. The patterns in the background are the basis for most of the design - color scheme, shapes, etc. The text is groovy, baby. The table is offered in a variety of those colors that made your parents go "I hope we have money to re-paint" when they bought their first house.

The Chill of "flamenca"

I'm using these mood boards to extract varying implications of the brand, while still allowing it to be exotic and seductive.

I've been continually approaching my brand as a hot, sultry product. This mood conveys a freezing and dangerous yet provocative terrain.

ink

for the first mood board i wanted to return to my initial aesthetics:

positive & negative space
spontaneous elegance
texture
tangibility
SIMPLICITY

Evening in the soup

At times we are forced to confront the way in which our identity is defined by others.

Summertime

With this mood board I wanted to portray the feeling of summertime. Lemonade stands pop up on every corner in my neighborhood when the sun is out, the sky is blue, and everyone's wearing flip flops. I wanted to portray this through my mood board with the colors, the texture, and visual symbols that remind us of summertime.

Day 7

I wanted to capture the essence of the feeling of a home that is filled with natural-like furniture and plant life through this mood board. Greens, tan, browns, and pinks fill in the mood of different tones found in nature. The textures in the background portray a more organic feeling of plants and type of wood or fabric pattern used for home furnishings specific of the Asian culture.

Essence of Vivaldi

Hello fellow bloggers. Here we go on a new week of this exciting new mood board challenge (no sarcasm in this. I think it will be a fun new way to expand our creative problem solving skills).
With this first mood board I was thinking of Vivaldi and his "Four Seasons" and that lead me to thinking of Autumn—The crispness of the air, the vibrant golds and reds in the folliage. The piercing blue sky and biting wind. It reminded me of Vivaldi's music and the way the Baroque music is crisp and vibrant so I wanted to try and portray that mood of brightness of Autumn and Music in one.

I wanted to touch on the "mystique" of the performing arts.

Both Worlds Happy

With this mood board I wanted to depict our interaction with nature. I chose a vintage like feel mixed with a more fun application of text.

Mood board 1

I wanted to create a mood board with a sense of structure and stability not only in the pictures and colors, but in the layout as well. I wanted to see how Altable would feel with added structure and a more neutral and metallic color scheme. I also incorporated the Legos, whiteboard, and desktop screen shot to show a sense of personalization with the company and its products, as these are all things that are easily changeable.

Lacrosse Mood

Well getting into this time of the year when football is finishing other spring sports are beginning to get ready with training and everything. One of my favorite sports is Lacrosse and this time of the year, remembering all the training, gets me in a lacrosse mood. This is good though for two reasons. One because obviously were working on mood boards and two because it fits fairly well into my "Glo for different sports theme." I basically just took pictures of some lacrosse gear I have. For the color swatches I chose some from the MLL (Major League Lacrosse) Logo and the Lacrosse United Logo. I kinda feel like its a little scattered but then again that could be a part of my mood today too haha. Anyway I hope you all like.

Pain

going back to the street fighting, I wanted to create the mood of disturbing violence, how uncivilized and brutal a fight can be. Its dark and uncomfortable. The more you know how to fight, the more you don't want to.

the mood

that one color really isn't brown..it's gold. i kind of think of red, gold, and blue being superhero colors and then batman and superman are the most awesome of superheroes. this just is exploring creating a mood board for the energy drink making you feel like a superhero

Idle hands..

I wanted to gather together just a few things I really like the design of that i've acquired recently. And I feel like this comic kinda shows how I feel technology has influenced art and all other aspects of our lives.

FullGive (Day 7)

This mood board was created to depict the hands on feelings and processes used to drive the creative flow for FullGive. By using and being inspired by materials that are readily available to anyone; everything around us now becomes an inspiration. Looking at things this way is liberating and we are no longer bound to the usual or mundane.

Day 7

There is always a lot of glitz and glamour in car shows and lots of "unnatural" idea's that are implied. So with this mood board I wanted to separate the woman from the rigamarole and busy atmosphere created on the right. So she stands by her self implying the color and technicalities but being independent by herself.

Please excuse my dear bad lighting. And here is my green version of suite furnishings. I used a couple photos to show the style of the furniture "salon" but the colors and textures of the furniture and decor are shown in the little plants i found. The accent color is a dark purpleish which adds a little flair to the traditional greens and tans.

Freudentisch vs Self

Self Enhancement, Self Indulgence, Self Actualization.

I started with a snippet of hair (yes, from my own head). I began to think about what Freudentisch really is, and what it represents. With the hair, I envisioned a table covered with fur (an idea manifested in the 'exotic pet' version of the tisch). Today, however, I began considering the idea of self.
For today's 'mood board' (or mood assembly as it might more aptly be called in this case), I specifically considered the color brown. I began searching for brown objects that personified the 'self', and I came up with three ideas.
Self Enhancement is depicted by the hair, jewelry box and the makeup palette. Individuals strive to reach a social standard through use of objects such as these. Social dictates are one factor that drive our behavior. We preen ourselves because we have a subjective standard that we feel we must meet in order to fit into society.
Self Indulgence is represented by the chocolate and colors (brown and red). How many diets are subverted, how many moments of pleasure are there simply because an individual felt the need to indulge the self? Therefore, appealing to an individual's need to indulge can also affect behavior. Also, rich browns and reds are seen as indulgent, warm colors that appeal to an individuals need for inner comfort.
Self Actualization is, to quote the Wikipedia article that is quoting famous humanist psychologist Abraham Maslow, "the desire for self-fulfillment, namely the tendency for him [the individual] to become actualized in what he is potentially. This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming." Also, "intrinsic growth of what is already in the organism, or more accurately of what is the organism itself...self-actualization is growth-motivated rather than deficiency-motivated." Loosely interpreted, self-actualization is going beyond the basics.
Two earlier stages of Maslow's Hierarchy include belongingness (self-enhancement ties into the idea of needing to be socially acceptable in order to achieve a feeling of social place within an individual), and physiological needs (self-indulgence can be seen as a distorted fulfillment of basic physiological needs, though often seemingly against the social dictates). In the end, it's about self actualization. It's about getting beyond being 'deficiency-motivated' and becoming 'growth-motivated'.
That said, Freudentisch's mood is geared to target those with any of the above three needs: Self Enhancement, Self Indulgence, Self Actualization. To do this, it must be marketed as something that is socially acceptable (and indeed, socially desirable), something that will be inwardly rewarding, and something that will promote growth (especially creative) in the individual.

Day 8: Neverland Inc.

Let's get right down to business. We need to merge with these companies...
